Open the wall with steel
TG Welding builds steel beams, columns and headers for remodeling contractors in Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Round Rock and across Central Texas. We build to your engineer's drawings in our Liberty Hill shop, then our crew brings the steel in and sets it. You get a written quote in days, and the schedule is confirmed in writing once you approve the quote.
001 The problem
Remodel steel has to fit a house that's already there
- 01
Tight access, finished rooms
The beam has to come through a door, past finished rooms and up into a wall. Steel built without that in mind won't go in.
- 02
Shoring can't sit long
Every day the wall is shored, the homeowner lives in a job site. A late beam stretches that out.
- 03
Field fit surprises
Old framing is rarely square. A sub who won't adjust leaves you with gaps and rework.

007 FAQ
Straight answers for remodelers
Can you set a steel beam in an occupied home?
Yes. We build the beam to your engineer's drawings and plan the install around access, so it fits through the house and into the opening. Our crew sets it, and the mobile rig handles any welds that have to happen in place. Send photos of the route in with the drawings.
Do you size the beam?
No. We build to the drawings your engineer supplies. We are fabricators, not engineers, so beam size and connections come from the design. Send the stamped drawings and photos of the opening, and we'll get you a written quote for the steel in days.
How soon can you get a beam in?
Send the drawings and you'll have a written quote in days, not weeks or months. Once you approve the quote we confirm the schedule in writing. That date is what you plan shoring and framing around, so there's no open-ended wait.
Do you take smaller steel jobs on a remodel?
Yes. One column, one header or a single stair rail is a normal job for us. We also build porch rail, deck rail and pergolas for additions. Call the shop at (512) 548-5401 or email tim@tgweldingatx.com with photos and drawings.
